Things Trent was hoping to never hear...

Over the last couple of days my children have uttered a couple statements that have not only made me laugh, but are statements that clearly fall into a category of things a Dad doesn't ever want to hear!

The other night Eli was messing around in the living room.  Trent asked him to do something (I don't remember what it was exactly).  Eli responded with "I can't" Trent asked him, "Why can't you?"  Eli stood up and with a completely straight face says, "I'm too busy putting my earrings on right now to do that!"  I couldn't help but laugh.  What earring you ask...He had some sparkly square stickers that he was putting on his ears...They were his earrings...

Rylee had her 6 year check up on Tuesday.  It was just a routine check-up, but our doctor was examining her, he was about to look at her "private" area.  But before he did.  He asked her about who it was okay to look at her privates.  He was checking to make sure she understood that neighbors, teachers, friends, etc, shouldn't be asking to see or touching her their.  She didn't really answer him right away, so he asked again.  Who can look at your privates?  She smiled and said..."Just Boys!"  I had to laugh.  Doctor Buss rephrased the question, and she answered it fine...

We went to visit Jess & Zach last week in the hospital!  They are very happy to annouce the birth of thier son, Jack!  He is a sweetheart!  I love his little frohawk!  It's so cute!  The kids were really excited to meet him as well!  Kale and Eli really liked the curtain in the hospital room.  They spent most of the time playing with that...Whatever entertains them, I guess.  Here are some pictures from our visit!  Congratulations to  Zach & Jess!  He is wonderful!

More Tball...

On Monday night, Both Eli and Rylee had Tball. So Trent and I had to divide and conquer. He took Eli to his class, and I took Rylee to her game. They both did well. Trent said that Eli is scared, and didn't really participate until the end, but we are hoping that means next Monday he will start right away! I don't know why he is being so shy about it! He isn't usually shy. He has several reasons...They range from "It's just too much fun" to "I don't want to play with girls" to "Rylee is better then me"...Who knows. Rylee played well. She is starting to get the hang of this tball thing. I took this picture of her, and you can see how thrilled she is! ha ha! The expresssion says..."Mom!" Ha ha!

Rylee has another game tonight and then we are done with Tball for the week!

Weird Weather...

I took this picture on Friday night, we have had storms and stuff going on, but it was not raining (at least at our house), and we got to see this wonderful rainbow in the sky. Not only was is a double, but it was a complete rainbow. The sky was a weird yellow color too! It was pretty neat! These pics were taken from our backyard!

Opening Presents

The kids had a great time at Rylee's birthday party on Saturday! It was perfect weather! They played in the new sandbox, and the sprinkler/kiddie pool. It was like being at the beach! Sand and Water! Ha ha! She had a great time seeing everyone and loved the presents she got. She did get 3 "Ken" Dolls, so we returned two of them on Sunday, but now I am thinking I shouldn't have, cause the kids are all fighting over him. I didn't know he would be so popular! Eli, Kale, and Rylee all want to play with him! Should I be concerned? ha ha!

New Sand Box...

Yesterday Trent and a buddy spent the afternoon building a sandbox for the kids! We have been planning on putting one in since we moved in, but it finally happened yesterday! The kids are very excited about it. Trent has to go get sand yet, but the box is ready to go! They did a great job on it too! We put it by our deck and close to the house, so that it could be in the shade and so that we didn't have to mow around all sides of it. I can't wait for the kids to play in it! They love the sand so much! Rylee and Eli miss the old sandbox, and Kale hasn't ever had one. Our neighbor is nice enough to let us play with their's once and awhile, but is very little, and when the 4 kids get playing there isn't any room. The kids also play in the sand at Kara's house too, but now they will have a nice big 8 X 10 foot place to play! They should have plenty of room! Thank you Daddy! (And Scott)

The Birthday Girls!

Eli loved Lexi

Grandma Sharon and Lexi

Dad and Big Brother

Yesterday was a pretty special day, Not only was it Rylee's birthday, but at 3:16 a.m. yesterday Jodi and Kris welcomed their daughter into the world! Lexi was a little stubborn and didn't want to leave the comfort of Mommy's belly, so after a couple days of "persuasion" she was finally born. Lexi is 8 lbs 4 ozs and 21 inches long. She has really long fingers, and big feet! She even has a strawberry blonde hair. Rylee was very excited to get such a wonderful birthday present. She even said that they were "Birthday Sisters!" It was very cute. Before dinner last night we went up to the hospital to meet Lexi! We are so happy for Kris, Jodi, and Justin! Lexi is absolutely precious! Congratulations!

Rylee's Birthday!

Yesterday my little girl turned 6 Years old! It's crazy to think that she is already six! It seems like just yesterday she was a baby, and now she is going into first grade. I picked her up from Kara's house and we went to subway for lunch together! It was fun. Then last night we headed to Madison to meet Grandma Judy for Supper at Ella's Deli. We had to make a stop on the way to Dinner (I will explain more about that in my next post). We had a great time at Ella's Deli! The kids love all the fun things to look at and play with there. Grandma Judy brought a cake along, so we had that for dessert, and then the kids rode the Merry-Go-Round. It was a lot of fun! I think Rylee had a great birthday! :)

Our Newest Addition...

We would like to annouce the new addition to our family...Friday night, Rylee, Eli, Kale, and I went to the pet store in Sauk City. Rylee has been asking for a parakeet for her birthday, since we were going to be around most of the weekend, and her birthday is the 15th. We decided to let her pick it out on Friday night. She orginally said that she was going to pick out a yellow bird and name him "Sunny". Well, she ended up picking out this bird. He is not yellow, so I asked her what she was going to name him and she said "Sunny". I said, but he isn't yellow. She said that she liked the name Sunny, so that was going to be his name. I said...but he is blue and white, so maybe she should name him cloudy. She didn't think it was funny. So after much discussion his (we think it's a he) name is Sonny! The kids have been enjoying him this weekend. He is starting to adjust to our house and his new surronding/cage. He has been pretty quite, and not played or moved around alot. You can tell he is starting to get more aquainted, cause last night he was starting to chrip a little, and this morning he had gone down and ate some seeds.

T-ball

Rylee had her first T-ball game on Wednesday night! She did a great job! She was really nervous about it! I am not sure why, I just think she wasn't sure what to expect. She played Left Field, 1st base, catcher, and she batted 3 times. She even got to score a run! It was a lot of fun! Rylee did a great job! We did have to laugh cause she kept forgetting to take her glove into the field with her. We would have to yell from the sideline! It was funny!

One of the Mom's of a girl on Rylee's Soccer Team E-mailed me this picture of 5 out of the 7 kids on our soccer team with their trophies! It is so cute! It was raining this night and we ended up having to cancel our last game, but the kids got their Trophies and treats anyway! It was a fun year. Rylee ended up scoring 12 goals in 8 1/2 games! Go Rylee!

I need a vacation...

Last night we were eating supper, and Trent declared that he needs a vacation. I laughed and said who doesn't! Then I asked him, "Where do you want to go on vacation?" Rylee replied for Trent, and said "How about the Beach?" We all laughed a little bit. Rylee then raises her hand and says, "Who is with me? Anyone?" Trent and I both started laughing! I guess she is ready for a vacation too!

Moving on to 1st Grade...

Well, Rylee finishs up for first year of school on Tuesday! I can't beleive that she is already done with kindergarten! Friday we went to her concert, which was a look back at her kindergarten year! It's amazing to see how much she has changed and grew (both physically and mentally). She can now read! It's great! She is definately growing up. She is excited about going to first grade next year, but she will definately miss her Teacher, Mrs. Rashid. She has a great relationship with her! We won't find out until much later this summer who her 1st grade teacher will be or what type of 1st grade Rylee will be in. Lodi offers a couple of options for 1st grade...1) Regular Straight first grade, 2) A Looping 1st Grade, where they have the same teacher for both 1st and 2nd grade, 3)A combined 1st and 2nd grade class...half the kids are 1st graders, and half are 2nd graders, and over two years they learn together. She is going to go to Summer School this summer for two weeks, but otherwise is looking forward to playing and hanging out with her brothers.
