Last night after dinner, the kids and I were watching some tv. We were switching between the olympics and American Idol. After one of the guys preformed I asked Rylee and Eli if they thought he was a good singer. Rylee right away flashed the thumbs up. She was said he was good. So then I asked Eli, Do you like him? Thumbs up or Thumbs down? Eli gave the thumbs up! He just smiled and laughed. After the next preformer, I asked the same questions. Rylee again flashed the thumbs up sign, So I asked Eli...This time he gave the thumbs down. Then smiled and laughed. So, I turned and asked Kale...What do you think? Thumbs up or Thumbs Down? Kale started bopping his head to the music coming from the TV, and screamed. I wasn't sure exactly what that meant, but Rylee said he liked it!
The next preformer came on and Kale started dancing. He was bobbing his head and mumbling. It was so funny! I am not sure if he is going to be on American Idol or Dancing with the Stars! He clearly has the talent for either show!

Some of this, and some of that...
Rylee always fights bedtime!Last night was a fairly uneventful night at the Schneider house. We had dinner, read some books. Rylee has been really working on reading alot lately. She is getting much better. She does get frustrated with having to sound out words, but she is really doing a great job! Soon she will be reading all the books we have! :) The kids were tired last night. Rylee had a meltdown earlier in the evening and then Eli had one before bedtime. I think the we had a true weekend "hangover". Kale however was in a very good mood! He was super silly.
This weekend, The conversation came up about what the kids wanted to be when they grew up. I asked Eli what he was going to do when he grew up. He just kind of looked at me, and said..."When I am big?" Yes, when you are big! He thought for a moment and then said..."I am going to be a Daddy when I grow up!" He got this big smile on his face. I said, "That is nice" He replied, "I am going to be a Daddy just like my Daddy!" It was very cute!

Bathtime Photos...
Eli & Kale Playing Hard in the tub.I always like to take pictures of the kids in the tub. I hadn't done it in a long time, so I decided the other night it was time to get some cute shots again! The first picture with Kale and the Rubber Duckie is too cute for words! The boys always take a bath together, and then Rylee showers after they are done. I think she thinks she is too cool for baths.
This week has been busy. We played in Poynette on Tuesday night, and then play in Lake Mills tonight. This is always a tuff part of the season anyway, because basketball season always gets long, but it makes it even harder what you are playing away a lot! This weekend we hope to get to Joey's (Trent's godsons) Wrestling meet. He is wrestling at Sectionals, and seeded 1st. Kale starts swimming lessons this weekend. This will be his first time. So that will be fun. We haven't decided yet if Mommy or Daddy are going to go with him. I will hopefully have pictures from that next week. Have a great weekend!

Slam Dunk...
So this afternoon we were watching old highlights of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Kale had just woke up from his nap, so he was snuggling with me on the couch. He doesn't often sit and cuddle, so you have to take advantage of it when he wants to. He is getting to the age where he is starting to actually realize that the TV has things on it. So as he was sitting on my lap he was actually watching the show we had on. Of course since we were watching Basketball...There was a ball. So he kept pointing to the screen and getting excited. Much like Eli was, he loves sports that include a ball. He was getting excited when the players (they were showing Spud Webb highlights) would dunk. It was funny. So I said to Kale..."Are you going to be able to dunk someday?" He (adomently) shook his head yes...Then he kids of made a face and giggled. I said, "Are you going to be able to be in the Slam Dunk Contest?" He again shook his head yes, with a big smile on his face. Then I asked, "Are you going to be a better dunker than these guys?" He started giggling and shook his head again! Then he babbled something in baby talk. I am certain it was something like "Of Course Mom...I am going to be the next MJ or King James!"
Trent and I couldn't stop laughing! Hopefully, His dreams come true...Oh wait...maybe the are more like our dreams! ha ha!

Valentine's Lunch with Eli

Yesterday I got the privledge to go to Eli's Preschool and have lunch with him and his classmates. They do this every year for Valentines. The kids with help make pizza, and everyone brings something. It is always a lot of fun. I was the first parent to arrive yesterday, and when I walked in the door, Eli got all excited! He was waving at me. I got to go over and sit by him while Mrs. Pearson was reading them a book. The excitement on his face was precious! We ate lunch and looked at all the valentines he got from his classmates. Then we headed back to Kara's house, and back to work. Last night he was telling Trent about it. Usually Trent comes too, but this year Trent couldn't make it. He was giving him all the details! It was cute!
It sounds like such a simple little thing, but I enjoyed it so much! It's not everyday that Eli and I get to spend time together alone! Infact it's not very often at all...I really enjoy the time when we do!

This and That...
Well, For the most part everyone in our house is back to normal. We still have some cold symptoms, but nothing that is too serious. Rylee ended up getting a double ear infection last week and going on antibiotics for that. But she is feeling much better! Eli has got a little cough, and Kale feel and busted up his lip, but all in all the flu bug has stopped biting us! We are very happy that we are all feeling better. Thanks again to everyone who helped us get over the bug!
Last week went so fast, I had two basketball games. We lost on Tuesday and won on Friday. They were both away, and long drives! Last night we played at home against Portage. We ended up losing by 3 seconds. We had a chance to tie, but the 3 pointer rolled out! It was a good game. We were down by 12 points and came back. It was a good game. Trent brought the kids last night. They seemed to have a good time. I heard them cheering on and off. I must say that I am so proud of Trent. He comes to almost all of my home games with all three kids! I really do appreciate it! It’s nice to have them there supporting me! It is no easy task for him! Keeps 3 kids quite and well behaved for over an hour sitting on bleachers! He is a brave man! Ha ha!
We are working on Valentines this week. Eli is done with his, but Rylee has more to complete. I got some Candy for them to give with their valentines! On Thursday Eli is having a valentine lunch at preschool with us parents. They are making Pizza. Rylee’s Kindergarten Class celebrated their 100th day of school yesterday! Sounds like it was a lot of fun. They each brought 100 snacks of some sort (like crackers, marshmallows, cereal, etc...) They then mixed it all together and made a “chex mix”! They also brought in food for the food pantry, and tried to get 100 things. I haven’t heard if they were successful yet or not.
This week should be a little less crazy since we are all feeling better!

Less than great weekend...
Let’s just say as a family we have definitely had better weekends! This might go down in the memory bank as a weekend we will never forget, but not necessarily in a good way! The weekend had so much promise! I was looking forward to it, but Thursday night the weekend started it’s downward spiral!
Rylee woke up in the middle of the night sick. She did make it to the bathroom before she puked, which was a very good thing. She woke up multiple more times during the night. Needless to say she didn’t go to school on Friday. She spent most of the day on the couch. Let’s just say it was the sickest I had seen her in awhile. She was having cramps, puking, and other things...By Saturday morning she was feeling much better. She was still not able to really eat much, but was playing and feeling much better. So, After some debate we decided that she was on the mend enough for us to head to Milwaukee where we were celebrating Christmas with the college gang. Jen was kind enough to host this year. We got to Milwaukee about 5:00 p.m. or so. Upon arriving and unpacking, Trent said his stomach was bugging him a little. By 6:00 p.m. he was puking (Thank goodness Jen has a downstairs’ bathroom). He got what Rylee had. He was having the same issues she did...He ended up spending the whole night laying in the back room or in the bedroom. About 8:30 at night, I started to feel a little yucky, and by 9 something I was puking. The boys were in the bathroom with me, as I puked Eli started to rub my back (he is such a sweetie!). I had gotten the funk too. Great! Here we are in Milwaukee, supposed to be celebrating Christmas with my friends. We have all three kids along, and Trent and I are sick...Trent can’t even function and I don’t want to. Do we try to drive home? Do we go ahead with the plans to sleep over? What do we do?
Well, with the multiple bathroom visits that Trent and I were both having, we decided there was no way we could make it home. We were just going to have to wait it out! I felt bad cause there was a house full of people and we are sick! AHH! Finally, everyone went to sleep. Trent and the kids (Rylee & Eli in bed with him) and Kale in the pack n’ play were sleeping in Jen’s Spare room. Jodi was on the couch in the living room. Becky, Luke, and Ruby in the other Room, Jen 7 Jesse in Jen’s room. I was downstairs on the couch. About 12:30 p.m. I hear Eli screaming. I fly upstairs...Eli is puking now too! But he didn’t get up, he just puked in bed! Now we have a comforter, blanket, and sheets full of puke! Great. After getting him cleaned up, and settled down. Changing the sheets, and getting everyone back in bed, and back to sleep...I am feeling worse than before. I end up puking again. Finally, I get back to sleep while the wash machine is going with the pukey sheets in it! I am awoken again by Eli screaming...This time it was worse...It’s all over him. His hair, his pj’s...So we again clean everything up, change him into his clothes from Saturday. Get the bed clean again! Get back to sleep. The third time Eli puked it was better. He actually made it to the waste basket.
Sunday morning came way to fast. Trent and I were still feeling yucky, but better then the night before. Thank goodness Kale hadn’t gotten sick! I called my Mom and she came and got Kale. We spent the entire day watching movies and sleeping. Luckily we all feel better today. Much better! I will give you one guess what we had for lunch yesterday...Yes, you are right. Chicken Noodle soup and toast!
Two things I learned this weekend...1.) When in doubt stay home 2.) I have some really good friends! Thanks Jen!
